Alex is an experienced lawyer with expertise in regulatory, advisory and contractual matters in the Technology Media and Telecommunications (TMT) and Information and Communications Technology (ICT) space. 

His core skill sets include navigating novel legal and regulatory issues, negotiating multifaceted technology and business agreements, and managing incident responses such as data breaches and government requests. He excels at understanding the conceptual and technical underpinnings of technology and digital products, and applying legal concepts and analysis with agility to new and emerging technologies. He also consults on technology policy matters in developing areas of law including artificial intelligence. 

He has represented clients in matters related to data, artificial intelligence, IT, Fintech, e-commerce, telecommunications and other topics within the gamut of TMT/ICT. They include internet native companies and businesses undergoing digital transformation ranging from US, China and the region, as well as companies in regulated sectors such as banking, payments and telecommunications. 

Alex completed his law degree in Singapore before pursuing a Masters degree in Law, Science and Technology at Stanford Law School. He is dual qualified in both Singapore and California and was previously a lawyer at Baker McKenzie.Wong&Leow and Drew & Napier in Singapore. He has also worked for several technology companies in Singapore and US including PayPal and Xilinx. 

His industry appointments include Co Vice-Chairperson of the Law Society’s Data Protection and Cybersecurity Committee, advisor to the AI Asia Pacific Institute, and executive-committee member of the AI Ethics & Governance Special Interest Group of the Singapore Computer Society. He is a certified Data and Digital Economy Specialist by the Singapore Academy of Law, a certified AI Ethics & Governance Professional by the Singapore Computer Society and a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/EU) by the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
