Jonathan advises on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and commercial and technology contracts in Singapore and Southeast Asia. Jonathan trained and practiced as a corporate lawyer in leading international and Singapore law firms (including Allen & Overy and Drew & Napier), with a focus on cross-border transactions. He works with a wide range of clients including start-ups, family businesses, large corporates, founders and high net worth individuals.

His recent matters include:       

• Acting for a family-owned investment holding company on the acquisition of a marine services company, and related acquisition financing*;
• Advising an Indonesian start-up on Singapore law aspects of its seed fundraising and the establishment of its employee share option programme*; and
• Supporting a major F&B group on its software licensing and systems implementation agreements*.

Jonathan also spent 8 years as an in-house counsel at Lazada Group, where he was Deputy General Counsel and advised on a wide range of issues across Southeast Asia, including:

• Foreign investment, business licensing and corporate structuring in Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia;
• E-commerce, digital marketing, and logistics business line launches;
• Regulatory engagement; and
• M&As and joint ventures.

Jonathan graduated from the National University of Singapore, and is admitted to the Singapore bar.
