Chiap Seng is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in both private practice and in-house counsel roles. He has led legal departments for Singapore-listed companies and multinational corporations, bringing a wealth of expertise in startup matters, mergers and acquisitions, investment funds, and general corporate and commercial transactions. His deep understanding of legal complexities and strategic approach has made him a trusted advisor in high-stakes corporate environments.
In mergers and acquisitions, Chiap Seng has successfully managed major transactions, including the simultaneous M&A projects of two hospitality companies with assets in Singapore and Australia, valued at S$500 million. He also led the divestment of a significant hospitality asset in Australia, as well as the acquisition of a Japanese in-flight kitchen by a Singapore-listed operator.
Chiap Seng’s expertise also encompasses startup management and fund management, where he has been a key resource in the setup and implementation of deep tech startups under the National University of Singapore’s innovation incubator program. Additionally, he managed the establishment of the fund management arm for a Korean-listed multinational corporation.
Chaip Seng graduated from the National University of Singapore and is admitted to the Singapore Bar. In additional to his legal qualifications, he also holds an MBA with the National University of Singapore.
