We have significant experience advising governments, sponsors, contractors, operators and financiers in connection with the development, acquisition, financing, construction and operation of energy, utilities and infrastructure projects. We have been involved in all aspects of project structuring, due diligence, drafting and negotiation of development, acquisition, fuel supply and off-take agreements, power purchase agreements,  engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts and operation and maintenance (O&M) contracts, as well as financing and security documentation. 

Our lawyers are also known for their market leading work on Singapore PPP projects. Our lawyers have advised the Singapore government and its agencies on almost every PPP project to date. Our lawyers have consistently been recognised in leading legal publications such as Legal 500, Chambers, IFLR.

Relevant Experience include:

  • Acting for the Singapore National Environment Agency’s Tuas Nexus project comprising the 800 tons/day Integrated Waste Management Facility.
  • Acting for bidders on all of Singapore’s National Environment Agency’s incineration PPP projects including the 5th and 6th incineration projects. 
  • Acting for Singapore’s Public Utility Board’s on all of its NEWater and desalination PPP projects including Ulu Pandan, Changi 1 & 2 NEWater projects, Tuas 1 & 2, Changi, Jurong Island and Marina East desalination projects.*
  • Acting for Singapore’s Defence Ministry’s on all of its PPP projects including aircraft procurement and training, and multi-purpose firing range projects.*
  • Acting for the Macquarie-John Laing consortium in connection with its bid for the USD 1.5 billion Singapore Sports Hub PPP project comprising a sports stadium, water sports and other recreational and commercial facilities.*
  • Acting for Comfort Delgro-Engie consortium on its bid for the SolarNova 7 project comprising installation and operation of PV solar systems on the rooftops for 1290 public housing apartment blocks and 99 government sites.*
  • Acting for a Singapore-Malaysian consortium in its bid for the Singapore 100MW trial import of renewable energy from Malaysia.*
  • Acting for a bidder in connection with Singapore’s tender for 2GW renewable energy import from Indonesia via undersea transmission interconnect.*
  • Acting for First Solar on the greenfield development of a 2000MW solar power farm in Inner Mongolia, China.*
  • Acting for SunEdison on the divestment of its greenfield 150MW solar project in Bangladesh.*
  • Acting for shareholders of Athena Energy Holdings, a company that develops, finances, constructs, owns and operates renewable energy assets in Asia and Australia, in the sale of Athena Energy Holdings to Manhattan Resources Limited.*
  • Acting for a Singapore sponsor on the Islamic financing of a biomass power project in Malaysia.*
  • Acting for a French solar developer on a number of corporate PPAs in Singapore.*
  • Acting for a sponsor on a greenfield 100 MW solar farm power project in Vietnam.*
  • Acting for Malakoff Sdn Bhd in its bid for a greenfield 200 MW mine-mouth coal fired power project in Indonesia.*
